Margaret Urbanek Luisier Charitable Fund

Charitable giving was an “inheritance” of sorts for Margaret Urbanek Luisier. As the daughter of the distinguished funeral director Charles “Cy” Urbanek and Florence Forst Urbanek, Margaret saw her parents share their time, talents, and resources with the community. Cy and Florence were dedicated citizens of Manitowoc and cared deeply about passing on a great place to live for those who would follow. It is no wonder that their daughter embraced their passion for community.

Margaret loved Manitowoc and its wonderful people. As a firm believer in giving back to the community, it seems there is no end to her generosity. During Margaret’s lifetime, she supported many charitable organizations within the Manitowoc community. Although she passed away in 2011, Margaret continues her passion for giving through an endowment fund that was planned through her estate.

As a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Margaret felt strongly about post-secondary education. Her dream to support young people working toward higher education is fulfilled through the Margaret Urbanek Luisier Charitable Fund. The fund was established to provide scholarships to graduates of Lincoln High School and Roncalli High School pursuing post-secondary education. Scholarships from the Margaret Urbanek Luisier Charitable Fund are awarded in memory of Charles “Cy” and Florence Forst Urbanek. Through her endowed charitable fund, Margaret continues to carry on the legacy that was modeled for her by paying tribute to her parents’ generosity and passion for community.
