Richard F. Brindza Memorial Scholarship Fund

There will always be a demand for jobs in the skilled trades, and a college degree is not required for these professions.  That was Richard “Breezy” Brindza’s belief.  To demonstrate his belief, Breezy directed a scholarship fund be established to provide financial assistance to Manitowoc Public School District students who pursue a career in various trade programs offered by Lakeshore Technical College.

A Manitowoc native and an only child of Frank, also dubbed “Breezy”, and Dorothy Brindza, the junior Breezy attended the Manitowoc Public School District.  After high school, he followed in his father’s footsteps as a painter contractor and was the proud owner of Breezy Brindza Painting.

While Breezy passed away in 2016, his passion for the trades continues through the Richard F. Brindza Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Breezy’s fund will help fulfill the need for skilled talent on the Lakeshore.  With this support, local students will be encouraged to use their aptitude, passion and vocational education to meet the high demand in the community for skilled professionals in the trade industry, along with obtaining a gainful, satisfying career.
