Investment Oversight and Philosophy

Our investments are guided by our Board of Directors in compliance with our Investment Policy and investment philosophy, which prioritize prudent stewardship of the funds entrusted to us, benefiting the philanthropists and charitable organizations we serve. As an endowed organization, we will be here in perpetuity to ensure our clients’ funds continue to do all that they envisioned.

Investment Objective

Our primary investment objective is to employ a diversified approach to fund management, emphasizing risk control while pursuing long-term growth to counter the impact of inflation. This strategy facilitates ongoing and sustained support of our clients’ charitable aspirations, both in the present and the future.  We employ a balanced growth strategy, investing our assets across a mix of domestic and fixed income instruments, both domestic and international in nature.

Investment Management

To manage risk, the Foundation’s investment portfolio maintains a target asset allocation of 70% equities and 30% fixed income, with investments diversified across both domestic and international markets within these asset classes.  The portfolio was previously managed by Vanguard Institutional Advisory Services, which, as of March 15, 2024 merged with Mercer, a global firm specializing in Outsourced Chief Investment Officer services.  The Foundation’s investment portfolio retains its current structure centered primarily on Vanguard funds.
